Seeking a Head of Compliance for the UK and Europe on behalf of our client where you'll play a crucial part in fostering a positive risk and compliance culture within the organisation, ensuring regulatory adherence and customer support. Responsibilities include engaging with executives, monitoring regulatory updates, and overseeing policy development. Responsibilities
- Demonstrate leadership and initiative by engaging with executives and business unit heads to provide timely and accurate compliance guidance, fostering strong partnerships with key stakeholders
- Assist in building and enhancing the compliance and governance function across the organisation
- Build and nurture a cohesive, high-performing team while serving as a role model for effective leadership practices
- Monitor regulatory updates and assess the need for procedural changes within the business
- Stay informed about regulatory and industry developments by establishing and maintaining a robust network of external stakeholders
- Contribute to regulatory change initiatives through active participation in regulatory events and drafting submissions
- Assist in reviewing, developing, and implementing policies and procedures in alignment with the organisation's Policy Governance Framework, with a specific focus on those related to the UK and European business
- Manage Fitness and Probity policy compliance, including assessment, reporting, and notifications for the UK and EU branches
- Identify and prepare regulatory notifications for the UK and EU branches
- Review and provide regulatory compliance advice and approvals for the UK and EU branches
- Oversee all statutory record-keeping requirements
- Provide regular reporting as required
Skills
- Possession of appropriate recognised qualifications, such as the Professional Certificate OR Diploma in Compliance (ACOI)
- Experience in a PCF 12, PCF 15, or CF2 role in line with the Central Bank of Ireland's Fitness & Probity regime is preferred
- Minimum of 5-8 years' relevant experience in the insurance industry, with approximately 3-5 years in a Senior Management compliance role, including preparation of Management Information and presenting reports to the Board
- Strong decision-making skills
- In-depth knowledge of the regulatory environment
- Familiarity with cross-border requirements
- Experience in business partnering
- Strong understanding of regulatory requirements for compliance within the financial services and/or insurance industry
- Ability to interpret regulatory obligations and develop appropriate compliance policies, frameworks, and ongoing monitoring regimes
- Relevant degree qualification in a related discipline
- Demonstrated leadership skills with proven experience in managing a team and/or program of work
