Role Overview:
We are seeking a technically proficient Application Engineer with strong experience in metal cutting and ideally the aerospace sector. This role is focused on delivering advanced technical support to both commercial teams and customers, ensuring optimal utilization of tooling and machining solutions. You will play a critical role in driving project success, customer satisfaction, and technical innovation across a range of industrial machining environments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Diagnose complex machining challenges in aerospace and precision manufacturing environments and recommend high-value technical solutions.
- Design, implement, and validate tooling setups and machining strategies, ensuring optimized cycle times, tool life, and part quality.
- Lead technical discussions with customers and internal stakeholders; influence decision-making with data-driven insights and deep process understanding.
- Conduct trials, collect machining data, and refine parameters in live production settings to meet demanding technical and commercial requirements.
- Collaborate with internal design, R&D, and commercial teams to align customer needs with tooling capabilities and new product developments.
- Contribute to strategic customer projects where performance, reliability, and ROI are key drivers.
- Maintain rigorous documentation in engineering and CRM systems, ensuring traceability of tests, results, and customer feedback.
Ideal Candidate Profile:
- Required Technical Background
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Production Engineering (or equivalent).
- More than 5 years of experience in metal cutting, CNC machining, and tooling optimization.
- Direct exposure to aerospace industry standards, materials (e.g. titanium, Inconel), and precision tolerancing.
- Proficiency in CAD (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar) and machining simulation tools.
- Experience with machining centers, multi-axis systems, and process validation techniques.
