Join a global consulting and marketing company supporting major retail brands as a Payroll Specialist, responsible for managing payroll, social insurance, and key HR operations for employees in Japan. This role ensures accurate payroll processing, compliance with Japanese labor regulations, and timely employee support across compensation and benefits. You will work closely with HR teams and external vendors in a highly global, people-first environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage monthly payroll processing and incentive payments accurately and on schedule.
- Administer social insurance, welfare pension, and labor insurance calculations and procedures.
- Oversee the year-end adjustment program to ensure compliance and accuracy.
- Verify and manage paid leave accruals, ensuring correct updates for all employees.
- Work with payroll vendors to ensure data accuracy and service quality.
- Maintain employee payroll records and support HR teams with compensation-related tasks.
- Support audits, compliance checks, and data submissions when required.
Required Skills and Qualifications
Experience:
- Experience in payroll calculations and payroll operations.
- Experience managing payroll vendors and validating payroll data.
- Knowledge of social insurance, payroll cycles, taxation, and Japanese payroll systems.
Soft Skills:
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Well-organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple deadlines.
- Ability to work accurately under time pressure.
Language Requirements:
- Japanese: Fluent level.
- English: Intermediate to Business level.
Preferred Skills & Qualifications
- Experience in HR operations or C&B within multinational companies.
- Understanding of Japanese HR compliance and reporting processes.
