A leading global FMCG company is seeking an HR Operations & Benefits Specialist to deliver an outstanding employee experience across compensation, benefits, and HR operations in Japan. This role plays a key part in ensuring smooth C&B operations, regulatory compliance, and close collaboration with global Total Rewards and payroll teams. You will act as a trusted HR partner for employees and managers while supporting global-to-local HR initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Handle inquiries from employees and managers related to compensation, benefits, and leave management
- Administer local benefits programs and ensure full compliance with Japanese labor laws and regulations
- Collaborate with global Total Rewards teams to provide local insights and support policy implementation in Japan
- Support employee transfers, localization cases, and international new-hire processes
- Work closely with global payroll teams to ensure accurate data flow and regulatory compliance
Required Skills and Qualifications
Experience:
- University degree or equivalent experience in HR or a related field
- 5+ years of experience in Compensation & Benefits or HR operations
- At least 2 years of experience working in a multinational company
- Strong knowledge of Japanese labor law and social insurance systems
Soft Skills:
- Ability to perform effectively under pressure
- Agile and adaptable mindset in a fast-paced environment
- Strong teamwork and collaboration skills
- Excellent relationship-building, communication, and problem-solving abilities
Language Requirements:
- Japanese: Native level
- English: Fluent (business-level communication required)
Preferred Skills & Qualifications
- Experience supporting global HR programs or Total Rewards initiatives
- Hands-on exposure to payroll coordination in a multinational environment
- Experience managing cross-border HR cases or international employee mobility
