A global leader in testing, inspection, and certification services is seeking a Certification Project Engineer to support safety compliance and certification projects for consumer electronics and IT/AV equipment. This role offers the opportunity to work with international clients, global safety standards, and cutting-edge technologies in a collaborative and innovation-driven environment. You will play a key role in helping manufacturers achieve compliance with international product safety regulations while working closely with laboratories, engineering teams, and customers.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage certification and compliance projects for IT/AV equipment and consumer electronics products
- Conduct conformity assessments based on international safety standards including IEC 62368-1 and IEC 60335-1
- Lead technical discussions with customers regarding product safety regulations, testing requirements, and compliance standards
- Prepare technical reports, certification documentation, and approval-related materials for product certification projects
- Coordinate project schedules, quotations, testing plans, and collaboration with laboratories, sales teams, and internal stakeholders
Required Skills and Qualifications
Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, science, or equivalent technical experience
- Experience in design, development, quality assurance, or compliance-related work for electrical or electronic products
- Knowledge of electrical product safety standards and international compliance requirements
- Hands-on experience managing certification projects, documentation, and coordination activities
Soft Skills:
- Strong communication skills for customer-facing technical discussions and cross-functional collaboration
- Problem-solving ability to identify compliance issues and recommend effective solutions
- Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail when reviewing standards and technical reports
- Ability to manage multiple projects and schedules in a fast-paced international environment
- Proactive and collaborative mindset when working with laboratories, clients, and internal teams
Language Requirements:
- Japanese: Fluent
- English: Fluent
Preferred Skills & Qualifications
- Experience using international product safety standards including IEC, EN, UL, and JIS in product development or design
- English reading and writing skills for technical standards, regulations, and certification reports
- Experience supporting customer-facing technical projects in compliance or certification environments
