A top-tier global investment bank is seeking an experienced XVA Trader to establish and lead the XVA trading function in Japan. This is a senior-level front office position with significant visibility, strategic influence, and direct impact on the firm's trading revenue and risk management framework. You will contribute to shaping the local XVA infrastructure while working closely with international teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Establish and lead the XVA trading desk in Japan
- Originate, evaluate, and execute trading strategies across XVA products
- Generate actionable trade ideas to manage counterparty credit and funding risks
- Coordinate with global trading and risk teams to align pricing and risk frameworks
- Provide market insights and performance analysis to senior leadership
- Ensure regulatory and internal compliance across all XVA trading activity
Required Skills and Qualifications
Experience:
- Minimum 5 years of hands-on XVA trading experience in an investment banking environment in Japan
- Deep knowledge of credit/funding adjustments (CVA, FVA, KVA) and derivatives pricing models
- Proven ability to build and lead trading functions from the ground up
Soft Skills:
- Strategic mindset with the ability to influence desk direction and structure
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
- Capable of collaborating across global teams in a fast-paced environment
Language Requirements:
- Japanese: Native level
