Join a globally integrated travel and tourism organization as Inbound Tourism Director Japan, leading the full inbound travel business across the Japanese market. This executive-level role oversees strategic direction, commercial performance, and operational excellence within the inbound division. You will take ownership of financial performance while driving sustainable growth in Japan's competitive inbound tourism sector.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee overall governance, performance, and strategic direction of the inbound department.
- Own departmental P&L, budget planning, and financial performance reporting.
- Lead and develop managers, team leaders, and senior consultants across inbound segments.
- Align organizational structure and resource allocation to maximize commercial outcomes.
- Maintain senior-level relationships with overseas travel agency partners and key stakeholders.
- Drive OKR setting, performance monitoring, and operational efficiency initiatives.
- Collaborate with product, operations, systems, and regional teams to enhance service delivery.
- Represent the inbound division in executive leadership meetings and industry engagements.
Required Skills and Qualifications
Experience:
- 8-10+ years of leadership experience within a DMC or inbound-focused travel organization.
- Strong expertise in inbound travel operations and commercial structures.
- Proven experience managing P&L and departmental financial performance.
- Experience leading multicultural and internationally diverse teams.
- Experience operating within flat, globally integrated organizational structures.
