A top-tier global bank with deep roots in Japan is seeking a Head of Transaction Banking Sales to lead its strategic growth across cash, trade, and liquidity solutions. This executive role involves driving revenue, managing high-impact sales teams, and delivering integrated transaction banking services to Japanese and multinational clients. Key Responsibilities
- Define and execute the Japan transaction banking sales strategy in alignment with global business goals
- Drive revenue growth across cash management, trade finance, FX, escrow, and liquidity products
- Lead sales KPIs including mandate wins, cross-sell, wallet share, and retention
- Provide strategic coverage to top-tier Japanese and international corporates
- Collaborate with Product, Implementation, and Operations teams to align delivery with client needs
- Manage sales P&L and support cost-efficiency initiatives
- Ensure strong governance and regulatory compliance in partnership with Risk and Compliance
Required Skills and Qualifications
Experience:
- Minimum 15 years in transaction banking, with a strong background in both sales and client relationship management
- Demonstrated success in leading high-performing teams and achieving business growth in Japan
- Expertise in cash management, trade, liquidity, and FX solutions
Soft Skills:
- Proven leadership and strategic planning abilities
- Ability to operate effectively in cross-border, matrixed environments
- Strong stakeholder management and collaborative mindset
Language Requirements
- Japanese: Native
- English: Fluent (used for internal and cross-regional collaboration)
Preferred Skills & Qualifications
- Experience working in global banks or Japanese megabanks
- Deep knowledge of Japan's transaction banking landscape
- Familiarity with international regulatory frameworks and operational controls
