Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and safety-conscious Forklift Operator to join our clients agricultural team based in Slane. The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe handling, loading, unloading, and movement of agricultural products, materials, and supplies while supporting the day-to-day operations of the business.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate forklifts safely and efficiently in accordance with company procedures and health and safety regulations.
- Load and unload deliveries of agricultural products, feed, fertiliser, seed, or other materials.
- Move stock between storage areas, production facilities, and loading bays.
- Conduct daily pre-use inspections and basic maintenance checks on forklifts and report any defects.
- Ensure accurate storage, stacking, and rotation of stock.
- Assist with stock control, inventory counts, and warehouse organisation.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organised work environment.
- Support general yard, warehouse, or production duties as required.
- Follow all company health, safety, and environmental policies.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to meet operational targets.
Requirements
- Valid forklift licence/certification.
- Previous experience operating forklifts in a warehouse, yard, manufacturing, or agricultural environment.
- Good understanding of safe manual handling and workplace safety practices.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good communication and organisational skills.
- Flexibility to work overtime during busy seasonal periods if required.
- Full driving licence is desirable.
Desirable Experience
- Experience within the agricultural, farming, or agri-business sector.
- Familiarity with handling bulk materials, pallets, and agricultural products.
- Basic mechanical knowledge for routine equipment checks.
