Role Overview
We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join the product team in a hands-on capacity. This role will focus on building, improving, and supporting core platform functionality while working closely with an external development partner.
The successful candidate will contribute to technical decisions, uphold engineering best practices, and support delivery, without carrying full architectural or people-management accountability.
Key Responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain backend services and APIs supporting an AI-enabled business intelligence platform.

Collaborate with product and business stakeholders to translate requirements into well-structured technical solutions.

Review code produced by third-party developers and provide constructive feedback to maintain quality standards.

Contribute to technical planning, estimation, and prioritisation of development work.

Support deployment, monitoring, and performance optimisation of cloud-based applications.

Assist with identifying and addressing technical risks related to scalability, security, and reliability.

Contribute to ongoing product enhancements, bug fixes, and system improvements.
Essential Requirements

Degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.

Strong experience as a mid-senior Software Engineer within a SaaS or technology environment.

Commercial experience with Node.js and modern JavaScript-based backend development.

Hands-on experience with at least one major cloud platform (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud).

Experience collaborating with distributed or outsourced development teams.

Solid understanding of secure coding practices and data protection principles (including GDPR awareness).

Legal right to work in Ireland/EU.
Desirable Experience

Exposure to AI-enabled systems or integration with Large Language Models (LLMs).

Experience working with modern frontend frameworks (e.g. React).

Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and QA processes.

Experience supporting production systems, including monitoring and incident resolution.
