The QM will be part of the site leadership team and have a team of 2 within their Quality group. This individual will oversee the Quality function and support the day to day operations with responsibility for all aspects of quality, including product disposition, task assignment etc.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the Quality team to identify and support continuous improvement and operational excellence initiatives.
- Facilitate quality review meetings to ensure follow-up of issues and implementation of actions to support the delivery of key site metrics.
- Managing the Vendor approval list and assuring all vendors meet the EU legislative, GMP and other relevant requirements.
- Conducts Internal Audits to identify process gaps and improvements including preparing a detailed plan for implementation of new recommended processes and procedures.
- Participate in and support the Internal, Customer and Regulatory Audit programmes
- Review of internal audits, hygiene audits and medication audits in line with relevant industry accreditations
- Management of the raw material change control programme and advise Senior management of change implications with regards legislation and product quality.
- Management of the customer complaints programme and ensure effective and efficient closure of customer complaints.
- Management of the analysis programme in line with a HACCP based risk assessed programme.
- Responsible for the document control and maintenance of the Quality Management System.
- Report non-conformances and drive root cause analysis.
- Drive and implement Quality System Improvements.
- Support and development of Quality colleagues within the Quality group by ensuring an effective training programme is in place.
Experience and Skills:
- 5+ years experience in a Quality or technical role in the food or feed industries
- Degree in a Science related subject
- Level 5 or higher HACCP certification
- Strong leadership and management skills
- Excellent understanding of Food Safety and Quality Management Systems with strong knowledge of food legislation, and specific customer standards and Codes of Practice
- Ability to communicate effectively with and present to Customers, suppliers, stakeholders & Senior Management
- Ability to work cross functionally, meet deadlines, build effective relationships and achieve agreed site goals
- Formal Audit Training/Lead Auditor or internal Auditor experience
