Roles/Responsibilities
- Lead legal support for the Japan office, coordinating with the APAC and Global legal teams.
- Provide expert advice on Japan business law, company law, financial law, and related regulations.
- Act as the main point of contact between internal teams and external entities, ensuring legal compliance and effective risk management.
- Maintain legal records and manage contractual agreements, providing regular updates and reports to the management team.
Required skills
- Law degree and license in one or more jurisdictions (Japanese qualification not necessary).
- Over 5 years of experience in the securities industry, with a deep understanding of FSA regulations and Japanese exchange trading business.
- Proficient in English and Japanese, with strong negotiation and communication skills.
Preferred skills
- Familiarity with clearing business operations and a good network within FSA and other government bodies.
- Experience in a small office or standalone legal role, demonstrating autonomy and decision-making capabilities.
