Responsibilities
- Develop and implement an HSE strategy aligned with organizational goals and objectives.
- Establish & implement effective Health, Safety & Environment policies & procedures incorporating legislative requirements & industry best practice.
- Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies to minimize accidents, injuries, and environmental incidents.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives including setting targeted/site-specific goals and initiatives and monitor performance/progress.
- Oversee external audits & inspections & develop the Tricel internal HSE audit programme to monitor compliance to documented policies & procedures.
- Oversee Emergency Management Planning to ensure that this addresses continuation of business and the minimisation of legal and regulatory breaches.
- Compile & report on key Health & Safety & Environment metrics and analyse data to identify trends, root cause and opportunities for improvement.
- Provide guidance, advice, and support to the management team on HSE policy and strategy standards.
- Ensure statutory reporting is undertaken in accordance with local legislation and internal procedures.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams such as operations, maintenance, and HR to identify risks, mitigate hazards and integrate HSE considerations into business processes and decision-making.
- Identify HSE training needs in conjunction with group sites.
- Manage a team of regional and central HSE resources.
- Participate in ongoing HSE projects as required.
Candidate Profile
- A minimum of 5 years' experience at H&S Manager level within a manufacturing environment.
- Experience and proven capabilities in developing and implementing world class health and safety management systems to ISO45001 standards in a manufacturing environment
