Global tech giant is looking for an experienced financial analyst to join their team. Ideally someone with experience with vendors, preferably on a global scale.
Please note this is an 11 month contract position working on a hybrid basis with our client's Dublin based office
Responsibilities:
Develop and execute financial analyses or components of complex financial analyses such as gap analysis or driver cost model for an assigned area of the business with minimal oversight.
Provide meaningful insights to leadership and enable business partners to make informed decisions.
Understand a specific area of business and client requirements and identify the most appropriate type of analysis while considering available options.
Take initiative to develop OKRs, with support from manager.
Challenge
Apply established frameworks and protocols to analyse financial data from various sources to identify potential issues and risks for the assigned area of the business.
Frame problems and provide potential solutions. Connect variances to business operational metrics, explain financial results to more senior business partners.
Generate alternative approaches with pros and cons and recommend opportunities for improvement in FP&A such as building financial forecasts from ground-up, ROI, BVA, conducting gap analysis, developing the drivers for revenues/costs, understanding basic DCF with cost of capital over time value of money.

Explain analytics confidently to assigned business partners with business insights and conclusions.
Focus on impact and ability to educate the audience on the benefits for the company, even if change from status quo may be counter intuitive.
Identify key stakeholders relevant to assigned work and begin to develop productive networks with colleagues, peers in other teams, vendor community, and other relevant FP&A partners.
Contribute to the execution of a core process or larger project, program, or initiative in an assigned area and coordinate with appropriate stakeholders to solve problems, recommend solutions, and drive the outcomes for assigned component(s) of the project
Demonstrate strong working knowledge in analytics. Proficient in more than one business area(s) within FP&A and the tool(s) relevant to assigned business area.
Demonstrate working knowledge of the assigned area of the business as well as the broader organisation.
Demonstrate a working knowledge of domain knowledge, technical knowledge, and skills relevant to FP&A.
Responsibilities under the direction of Manager:
Business finance
Analyse and disseminate data within a FP&A area to drive operational excellence, deliver insights, and revenue growth.
Financial modelling & deal review
Build or maintain financial models that track direct and allocated spending, planning, and forecasting for deals in product or finance area(s).
Financial reporting
Create financial reporting for a product area, market, or team within Finance and provide insights and impactful recommendations.
Process improvement
Design and obtain buy-in for process changes. Coordinate one or more components of change management.
Project management
Manage project planning, status reporting, timeline estimation, issue tracking, meeting facilitation, and project documentation. Propose next steps and roadblock solutions and anticipate questions and challenges.
Risk management
Develop data and research to identify and mitigate risk and escalate issues as needed.
Requirements:
Knowledge of financial accounting, managerial accounting, and cost accounting principles (e.g., capitalization, revenue recognition, CapX, balance sheet inventory, analyzing assets and understanding accruals).
The ability to monitor the risk environment and provide insights to enable effective risk management and controls.
Ability to complete financial modelling such as deal modelling, M&A activity, multi-year forecasts, cash flow models, etc.
Ability to create, track and manage KPIs and other financial performance metrics.
The ability to systematically gather and analyse data from a variety of internal and external sources (e.g. external valuations,10Ks, benchmarking, commodity movements) and draw conclusions, generate alternative solutions and evaluate outcomes. This includes the ability to add value to business planning and strategies.
Ability to quickly learn and/or use a financial system/technology (e.g., ERP, SQL, or relevant systems), understand and clearly explain familiar finance related technologies, solve or analyse technical issues or provide useful technical insights when needed.
