Working in collaboration with Site and Group colleagues to ensure capex projects are professionally executed managed utilising world class project management tools and resulting in on time and in budget delivery. You will deliver an asset care strategy to ensure engineering excellence is delivered through continuous improvement activities.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Site level input into Strategic Planning looking forward 5 years.
- Identifying risk and opportunities for Capex investment.
- Evaluating and quantifying the benefits of investing.
- Supports building the Business Case to proceed with a project e.g. Capacity Requirements,
- Process or Quality Improvement, Cost Savings, Safety & Legal, etc.
- Managing the cost-efficient service delivery of external contractors across the site in the development and achievement of site targets.
- Involve all engineering team employees and contractors in improving the efficiency and effectiveness of all manufacturing and support facilities in line with Lean Manufacturing principles.
- Develop and refine standards for all engineering activities on site and ensure all works are regularly assessed against these to ensure implementation of best practice.
- Provide necessary leadership to ensure that Lean principles are understood, embraced and implemented.
- Develop and implement systems to strategically prioritise and coordinate deployment of maintenance services and resources consistent with Lean Manufacturing principles.
- Lead work streams, encourage and coach reportees to work together in achieving the goals of the department and represent the department effectively in providing maintenance services to all stakeholders.
- Demonstrate strong leadership skills, promoting and enabling positive employee engagement to support achievenemt of site objectives and maintenance of high morale.
- Provide guidance to direct reportees in performance management and staff development, training initiatives, and business process improvements.
- Provide work direction to large team of people and effectively prioritise workload whilst balancing varying needs across the site.
- Continually assess engineering and maintenance staffing and skills requirements, developing plans to address gaps and needs.
- Develop, implement and document training plans for every member of the team in line with the needs identified and natural progression.
- Ensure that the training that has been delivered is effective and that all audit and legislative requirements are met.
Education & Skills:
- Engineering Degree Qualified.
- Proven collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
- Interest in researching the latest technologies and putting these forward to the business.
- Passionate about developing an organisation and its people.
