Morgan McKinley are partnering with a Global Insurance Firm looking for an IT Audit Manager to support their busy Sydney team on a 6-month FTC. The company offers flexible and hybrid working 2-3 days in the Sydney CBD.
This role is pivotal in providing high-quality assurance to the business. You will play a key part in protecting the organisation's digital landscape by identifying risks and ensuring the control environment remains robust within a complex, fast-paced regulatory framework.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and execute all phases of technology and operational audit engagements - including planning, risk assessment, scoping, fieldwork, and reporting - ensuring compliance with IIA standards and frameworks such as COBIT and NIST.
- Produce clear, value-adding internal audit reports that highlight actionable findings regarding cyber, technology, and information security risks for presentation to the Chief Audit Executive and senior leadership.
- Build and sustain influential relationships with business and technology stakeholders, effectively communicating complex technical risk concepts to diverse audiences across the organisation.
- Support the development of the Annual and Five-Year Internal Audit Plans, focusing on emerging digital threats, cloud assessments, and evolving cybersecurity landscapes.
- Drive the tracking and resolution of audit findings while delivering ad hoc technology reviews and special engagements requested by the business without compromising audit independence.
Requirements:
- Tertiary degree in a relevant discipline combined with professional accreditations such as CISA, CIA, CA, or CPA.
- Proven experience in IT, Cyber, or risk-based auditing within complex financial services, insurance, or Big 4 consulting environments.
- Deep understanding of the financial services regulatory landscape and a commitment to maintaining up-to-date knowledge of legal developments.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with a demonstrated ability to convey technical information with clarity, impact, and influence.
- A self-driven and resourceful professional who takes full ownership of their workload, exhibits resilience when tackling challenges, and is passionate about emerging technology.
