Morgan McKinley are partnering with a leading Sydney CBD Insurance Firm which is seeking an experienced Data Risk Manager to join their team as soon as possible, on an initial 7 Month Contract with the potential to extend or turn permanent.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a newly created team, where you have the opportunity to make a mark on the business, build strong stakeholder relationships globally and cover end-to-end issue management.
This is not your typical 9-5 role due to the global stakeholder management so will suit someone who wants super flexible hybrid working. You'll also have to be comfortable with ambiguity and changes and this team navigates new challenges, process improvements and a diverse range of tasks. However, you will be highly supported by the wider team and business and have excellent leadership.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and coordinate RCSAs, control testing, and proactive risk monitoring across complex Data and AI environments.
- Establish and run dedicated risk and issue forums to drive transparency, cross-functional prioritisation, and timely remediation across the group.
- Partner closely with Business, Risk, Compliance, and Technology leaders to ensure total alignment on complex data risk initiatives.
- Collaborate with divisional data teams to design and deliver high-quality risk dashboards, translating complex metrics into actionable insights for senior governance forums.
- Proactively identify control gaps, track ageing actions, and drive continuous improvement in data risk management practices.
Requirements:
- A strong, practical understanding of risk management frameworks, specifically RCSA, control testing, and issue lifecycles.
- Proven experience working within Data Governance, IT Risk, or AI/Analytics compliance environments.
- Exceptional communication and facilitation skills, with a track record of driving accountability across cross-functional teams.
- Solid experience navigating complex, highly regulated environments (exposure to APRA-aligned frameworks is highly desirable).
- The ability to synthesise complex data risk information into clear, structured reporting and strategic updates.
