In this customer-facing engineering role, you will connect advanced semiconductor technologies with customer product requirements, providing end-to-end technical support from initial technology selection through semiconductor design and tape-out.
You will work closely with customers, overseas teams, and internal engineering functions to propose optimal technical solutions, coordinate complex projects, and support successful product development. Key Responsibilities
- Understand the company's strategic semiconductor technology portfolio and recommend optimal solutions based on customer product and business requirements.
- Provide comprehensive technical support throughout the semiconductor product design cycle, from initial consultation through development.
- Deliver hands-on technical guidance and project management leading up to the successful tape-out of new semiconductor products.
- Coordinate technical operations across internal engineering teams, customers, and overseas departments to support successful execution of customer business plans.
- Identify technical challenges, communicate appropriate solutions, and maintain effective collaboration across multiple stakeholders.
- Support customer discussions and technical presentations, translating complex semiconductor technologies into clear recommendations.
- Contribute to business growth by identifying new technical and commercial opportunities through close customer engagement.
Required Skills and Qualifications
Experience:
- Professional experience in semiconductor design, process engineering, or semiconductor device technology.
- Practical knowledge of semiconductor product development and related manufacturing technologies.
- Ability to provide technical guidance and support customers throughout complex product development processes.
- Higher Professional School (Kosen) qualification or above.
Soft Skills:
- Strong accountability and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to drive objectives across multiple departments.
- Proactive approach to identifying customer needs and uncovering new commercial opportunities.
- Strong adaptability and resilience when responding to changing technologies, customer requirements, and market conditions.
- Effective communication, coordination, presentation, and negotiation skills for working with customers and international teams.
Language Requirements:
- Japanese: Fluent.
- English: Fluent, with the ability to communicate with overseas teams, conduct business discussions, and deliver presentations in English. TOEIC 600+ required.
Preferred Skills & Qualifications
- Chinese language proficiency.
- Experience working with international or regional semiconductor teams.
- Strong understanding of semiconductor foundry technologies, logic products, device development, or semiconductor manufacturing processes.
- Experience supporting customers in a technical consulting, pre-sales, Field Application Engineer, or similar customer-facing engineering capacity.
