A leading global investment bank is seeking a Vice President to join its Yen Rates Hedge Fund Sales team in Tokyo. This front-office role focuses on sales of JGB and Interest Rate Swap products, covering offshore hedge funds, central banks, and sovereign institutional clients. You will play a key role in driving revenue growth across Japan's fixed income markets while strengthening strategic client relationships within global markets.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive sales of Yen Rates products, with focus on JGBs and Interest Rate Swaps.
- Cover offshore hedge funds, central banks, and sovereign institutional investors.
- Develop and maintain senior-level client relationships within global macro and rates-focused funds.
- Provide market insights, trade ideas, and structured solutions aligned with client strategies.
- Collaborate with trading, structuring, and research teams to deliver competitive pricing and execution.
- Monitor market developments and proactively identify revenue opportunities.
- Contribute to desk revenue targets and overall fixed income sales strategy in Japan.
Required Skills and Qualifications
Experience:
- Minimum 5 years of Yen Rates Hedge Fund Sales experience within an investment bank in Japan.
- Strong knowledge of JGB markets, interest rate swaps, and macro fixed income products.
- Proven track record covering hedge funds and institutional investors.
Soft Skills:
- Strong commercial acumen and revenue-driven mindset.
- Ability to build trusted long-term institutional client relationships.
- Clear communicator with strong presentation and negotiation skills.
- High level of market awareness and strategic thinking.
Language Requirements:
- Japanese: Native level (written and spoken).
- English: Fluent level.
Preferred Skills & Qualifications
- Experience covering offshore hedge funds and sovereign accounts.
- Established institutional client network in Japan rates markets.
