This role is responsible for managing the end-to-end localization lifecycle of a globally distributed mobile software product. Acting as a bridge between the Silicon Valley development team and global regional offices, you will ensure the quality of Japanese content while building and maintaining the technical foundation that supports multilingual deployment across 27+ languages using Crowdin. This is an opportunity to contribute directly to global product growth while enhancing localization systems at scale in the automotive and mobility technology sector.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct rigorous Japanese translation review and proofreading in alignment with brand voice.
- Resolve translation errors, language bugs, and contextual issues directly within Crowdin (CAT tool).
- Manage and maintain Japanese glossaries and style guides to ensure terminology consistency.
- Oversee technical configuration and operational management of Crowdin projects.
- Capture and tag UI screenshots to improve translation context and accuracy.
- Assign tasks and manage progress for external vendors and regional proofreaders.
- Handle regional requests via ticket management systems and reflect requirements into product updates.
- Facilitate communication and meetings across development, product, and regional teams.
Required Skills and Qualifications
Experience:
- Minimum 3 years of experience in Localization Project Management, Translation QA, or Program Management.
- Experience in mobile software or the automotive industry preferred.
- Advanced proficiency with CAT tools such as Crowdin.
- Experience using JIRA, Confluence, Microsoft 365, and Google Workspace.
Soft Skills:
- Strong stakeholder management skills across complex organizations and time zones.
- Process-driven mindset with the ability to identify bottlenecks and implement scalable solutions.
- High attention to detail with strong organizational skills.
Language Requirements:
- Japanese: Native level.
- English: Business level (reading, writing, and speaking).
Preferred Skills & Qualifications
- Experience using the Crowdin Figma plugin.
- Localization background within major Japanese enterprises or the automotive sector.
