Marketing Manager - Life Sciences Strategy Lead (Tokyo)

A global leader in medical technology is seeking a Marketing Manager to lead the development and execution of strategic marketing plans that support business growth across Japan. This role combines cross-functional collaboration, commercial acumen, and brand leadership in a fast-paced environment. You'll be empowered to shape go-to-market strategies and drive performance across multiple product areas in the life sciences industry.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement marketing strategies, product launch plans, and initiatives aligned with business goals

• Identify unmet customer needs and translate them into actionable commercial opportunities

• Conduct market segmentation and targeting to optimize customer engagement and commercial results

• Define and manage pricing strategies aligned with brand and market positioning

• Collaborate with sales, medical affairs, and regional/global stakeholders to ensure message consistency and execution

• Monitor KPIs and performance metrics, adapting strategies and tactics accordingly

• Build and sustain relationships with key industry stakeholders and influencers

Required Skills and Qualifications

Education:

• Bachelor's degree required; an advanced business degree (MBA) is a plus

Experience:

• 6+ years of experience in marketing, sales, or related commercial functions

• Strong record of managing multiple projects and delivering under pressure

Technical & Commercial Skills:

• Strategic planning, pricing, forecasting, and marketing execution

• Proficient in Excel, PowerPoint, and Word

Soft Skills:

• Excellent communication and cross-functional influence

• Analytical mindset and ability to convert data into actionable insights

Language Requirements

• Japanese: Fluent

• English: Conversational to Business level

Preferred Skills & Qualifications

• Experience in the medical device or pharmaceutical industry

• Global or regional marketing exposure in a matrix organization
