You will play a key role in daily market risk measurement, analytics, and reporting, supporting trading desks and senior management with actionable risk insights. This role offers exposure to Japan's evolving power market and decarbonization initiatives within a rapidly expanding global organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform daily market risk measurement and ad-hoc analysis, including VaR, sensitivities, and stress testing
- Monitor trading positions, exposures, and key market risk factors across electricity and commodity markets
- Develop and enhance risk analytics tools and reporting infrastructure, ensuring data accuracy and consistency
- Provide timely and clear risk insights to Front Office teams and senior management
- Review new products and risk limits while improving risk methodologies, processes, and databases
Required Skills and Qualifications
Experience:
- At least 1 year of experience in Market Risk, Credit Risk, or Quantitative Analysis within a trading firm, bank, securities company, or energy business
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, or a related quantitative field
- Advanced skills in Python and SQL for data processing, analytics, and tool development
- Experience with risk management systems, market data management, and BI tools such as Power BI or Tableau
Soft Skills:
- Strong analytical and quantitative thinking ability
- Collaboration skills in a diverse environment
Language Requirements:
- English: Fluent
- Japanese: Conversational level
Preferred Skills & Qualifications
- Professional certifications such as CFA, FRM, or bookkeeping qualifications
- Experience in energy markets or commodity trading environments
