This role offers the opportunity to own and shape search and recommendation experiences at scale, improving discovery, relevance, and conversion through modern product leadership. As an IT Product Manager, you will drive strategy and execution globally, working with expert engineering, design, and analytics teams in a high-impact environment powered by experimentation and data-driven decision making.
Key Responsibilities
- Define product vision and strategy for search and recommendation capabilities aligned with business goals.
- Own and prioritize the product backlog using quantitative and qualitative insights.
- Lead cross-functional delivery with engineering, design, and analytics partners.
- Drive experimentation, measurement, and iteration to improve user discovery and conversion.
- Align stakeholders and negotiate tradeoffs to deliver meaningful product outcomes.
Required Skills and Qualifications
Experience:
- 5+ years of product management experience in consumer mobile or web applications
- Strong understanding of agile software development and leading autonomous product teams
- Hands-on experience collaborating with UX designers to improve user experiences
- Data analysis skills using SQL (or equivalent) to generate actionable insights
- Practical experience designing, running, and evaluating A/B tests
Soft Skills:
- Strong ownership mindset with the ability to drive initiatives end-to-end
- Clear, structured communication across technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Strong stakeholder management and decision-making capability in fast-paced environments
Language Requirements:
- Japanese: Native level
- English: Intermediate to Business level
Preferred Skills & Qualifications
- Experience with search, ranking, or recommendation systems in large-scale platforms
- Product management exposure to machine learning-powered features
- Academic background in computer science, data, or related STEM fields
