A leading global consulting firm is seeking an experienced Insurance Risk Consultant to support major insurance companies with enterprise-wide transformation initiatives.
This role focuses on high-impact areas such as Enterprise Risk Management (ERM), ESR compliance, governance enhancement, and regulatory response.
You will leverage deep insurance industry knowledge and analytical expertise to address management, financial, and risk challenges. Working closely with executive stakeholders including CROs and CFOs, you will contribute directly to strategic decision-making and long-term risk transformation initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide advisory services to insurance companies on risk management, ERM, and ESR-related initiatives
- Conduct management and financial risk analysis from a CRO and CFO perspective
- Support governance, internal control, and integrated risk management framework enhancement
- Assess regulatory impacts and develop response strategies for new regulatory requirements
- Lead project execution and client engagement activities
- Participate in global and cross-border projects as required
Required Skills and Qualifications
Experience:
- Experience in risk-related functions within insurance companies or financial institutions OR
- Corporate planning, product planning, or business strategy experience OR
- Experience in financial services consulting
- Basic understanding of insurance business models, regulatory frameworks, and solvency requirements
- Interest in quantitative analysis and structured problem-solving
Soft Skills:
- Strong logical thinking and ability to structure complex issues
- Excellent communication skills with ability to build client trust
- Flexibility and intellectual curiosity to tackle ambiguous challenges
- Collaborative mindset with strong team orientation
- Proactive attitude with strong ownership and initiative
Language Requirements:
- Japanese: Native-level fluency required
- English: Business-level proficiency preferred
Preferred Skills & Qualifications
- Knowledge or practical experience in ERM, ORSA, or ESR
- Professional certifications in governance, internal control, or risk management (CPA, CIA, etc.)
- Project management experience
- Actuarial background or interest in actuarial and quantitative methodologies
