Join a leading global reinsurer in Tokyo as a Reinsurance Pricing Actuary, supporting the growth of life and health reinsurance business in Japan.
In this role, you will lead technical pricing, experience analysis, and risk assessment, working closely with regional stakeholders across APAC. This is a high-visibility position where you will influence pricing strategy and product development in a dynamic, international environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform reinsurance pricing and technical assessments for life and health insurance products in Japan.
- Conduct experience studies and data analysis to generate actionable insights.
- Ensure pricing activities align with risk management frameworks and regulatory requirements.
- Manage reinsurance projects independently from initial assessment to final delivery.
- Act as a key liaison between Japan teams and APAC regional stakeholders.
- Provide guidance on risk mitigation strategies and product structuring within the Japanese market.
Required Skills and Qualifications
Experience:
- 4+ years of actuarial experience within Japanese life and health insurance.
- Strong understanding of Japanese insurance products and regulatory environment.
- Advanced analytical and technical skills in actuarial modelling and pricing.
Soft Skills:
- Strong communication skills to present technical insights clearly to stakeholders.
- High attention to detail with a logical and problem-solving mindset.
- Ability to manage projects independently in a fast-paced, international environment.
Language Requirements:
- Japanese: Fluent
- English: Business level
Preferred Skills & Qualifications
- Experience in reinsurance, insurance companies, brokers, or consulting firms.
