A rapidly growing digital platform company in Japan is seeking a General Manager of Product Planning to lead product strategy, development, and cross-functional innovation. This role will drive the evolution of a data-driven automotive technology platform, steering digital service development, product lifecycle management, and new business creation. You will play a pivotal role in aligning product innovation with company growth, user needs, and business KPIs.
Key Responsibilities
- Define and lead the strategic direction for core digital services and new business launches
- Manage full product lifecycle across web and mobile platforms, ensuring alignment with commercial goals
- Analyze user behavior, industry trends, and platform performance to drive innovation
- Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, design, and marketing to accelerate product delivery
- Lead internal and external stakeholder coordination to ensure project success and long-term scalability
Required Skills and Qualifications
Experience:
- Minimum 5 years leading teams of 5+ in product, technology, or business planning
- 3+ years of hands-on experience in digital service or app planning, ideally in B2C or B2B platforms
- Proven ability in requirements gathering, cross-functional project leadership, and product strategy
Industry Background:
- Experience in system integrators, consulting firms, or tech-driven service businesses preferred
Language Requirements:
- Japanese: Native level
- English: Business level
Preferred Skills & Qualifications
- Knowledge of automotive distribution, online car sales, or mobility services
- Experience launching new products or services in tech or digital industries
- Background in marketing, promotions, or product commercialization
