A leading global pharmaceutical company is seeking a Corporate Communications Manager to strengthen its corporate reputation and global brand presence in Japan. This role sits at the intersection of brand strategy, media relations, and corporate storytelling, translating global objectives into impactful local communication initiatives. You will play a key role in shaping how the organization is perceived by internal and external stakeholders in a highly regulated industry.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead initiatives to enhance the company's corporate reputation with internal and external stakeholders
- Develop and maintain a clear corporate brand identity aligned with global values and strategic goals
- Ensure all departments comply with global brand guidelines and use official brand assets correctly
- Oversee end-to-end creation and distribution of high-quality content across multiple media channels
- Build and manage strong relationships with journalists and plan media engagements, including press conferences
- Manage crisis and sensitive communications to protect and strengthen corporate reputation
- Localize global corporate strategies into Japan-specific initiatives and track effectiveness using data and analytics
Required Skills and Qualifications
Experience:
- Proven experience leading corporate communications or marketing communications strategies
- Hands-on experience working directly with journalists and managing media relations and events
- Ability to independently create high-quality written and visual content without reliance on agencies
- Strong experience managing brand standards and coordinating cross-functional projects
- Solid understanding of compliance requirements within regulated industries, preferably pharmaceuticals
Soft Skills:
- Strong ability to create logical, creative, and audience-appropriate content
- Influential communication style with the ability to collaborate across diverse stakeholders
- High resilience, adaptability, and composure in fast-changing or high-pressure environments
Language Requirements:
- Japanese: Native level
- English: Intermediate to Business level

- Direct experience within the Pharmaceutical or Life Sciences industry
- In-house corporate branding experience within a global organization
- Technical proficiency with digital communication platforms and emerging communication tools
