Key Responsibilities
- Advise clients on complex banking and finance transactions.
- Handle a broad range of finance and projects matters, including corporate finance, project finance, and asset finance.
- Draft, review, and negotiate loan agreements, security documents, and other financing transaction documentation.
- Provide legal advice on Japanese financial regulations and regulatory compliance matters.
- Support domestic and cross-border financing transactions in collaboration with international offices.
- Work closely with partners and senior lawyers on complex financing and commercial matters.
- Build strong relationships with domestic and multinational clients by delivering practical legal solutions.
Required Skills and Qualifications
Experience:
- Qualified Japan Bengoshi (Attorney-at-Law).
- Approximately 3-6 years of post-qualification experience (PQE).
- Experience in banking, finance, or corporate law gained at an international or domestic law firm, or within an in-house legal team.
- Experience handling finance, lending, or projects transactions.
- Proven experience drafting and negotiating finance transaction documents, including loan agreements and security documentation.
- Experience advising on financial regulatory matters.
