A leading global data, analytics, and technology organization is seeking an experienced Pharma Data & Analytics Director to lead the growth and development of its pharmaceutical data and analytics business in Japan.
This senior leadership position combines pharmaceutical commercial analytics, data strategy, AI-driven solutions, business development, and client relationship management. You will work directly with senior executives at leading Japanese pharmaceutical companies to develop innovative analytics strategies, deliver measurable business value, and identify new growth opportunities.
As a key leader of the Japan business, you will oversee strategic client relationships, develop high-impact pharma analytics and insights solutions, and collaborate with global technology and consulting teams to support the evolving needs of the Japanese pharmaceutical market.
You will also build and develop a high-performing local analytics team, drive commercial expansion, and contribute to the organization's long-term Japan market strategy.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead the strategic growth and development of the pharmaceutical data and analytics business in Japan.
- Manage senior-level relationships with leading Japanese pharmaceutical companies and key strategic accounts.
- Develop and execute pharma analytics and data strategies aligned with clients' commercial objectives and business priorities.
- Design and deliver advanced analytics solutions covering Sales Force Effectiveness (SFE), Market Access, Patient Analytics, Multichannel Marketing, and Real-World Evidence (RWE).
- Advise senior pharmaceutical stakeholders on AI, advanced analytics, data strategy, and technology-enabled business transformation.
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities, account expansion initiatives, and strategic partnerships.
- Lead client engagements and ensure analytics solutions deliver measurable commercial and operational value.
- Collaborate with global analytics, consulting, and technology teams to translate complex business requirements into scalable solutions.
- Build, recruit, mentor, and develop a high-performing pharmaceutical analytics team in Japan.
- Drive capability development and strengthen the organization's local analytics expertise.
- Partner with global and regional leadership to support Japan market expansion, business strategy, and revenue growth.
- Oversee the delivery of analytics initiatives in accordance with relevant Japanese business regulations, compliance requirements, and data governance standards.
- Monitor developments in the Japanese pharmaceutical market to identify emerging analytics, AI, and technology opportunities.
- Represent the organization in strategic discussions with senior pharmaceutical executives and industry stakeholders.
Required Skills and Qualifications
Experience:
- 18+ years of professional experience in data analytics, consulting, or commercial operations within the pharmaceutical or life sciences industry.
- Extensive experience in pharmaceutical commercial analytics, including Sales Force Effectiveness (SFE), pharmaceutical sales performance analytics, Market Access, commercial strategy analytics, Patient Analytics, healthcare data insights, Multichannel Marketing, pharmaceutical customer engagement analytics, Real-World Evidence (RWE), or healthcare outcomes analysis.
- Proven experience managing senior client relationships with Japanese pharmaceutical companies.
- Demonstrated success leading complex client engagements and delivering analytics solutions.
- Experience building, managing, and developing analytics, consulting, or data-focused teams.
- Familiarity with Japanese pharmaceutical and healthcare data sources, such as JMDC, MDV, IQVIA Japan, or comparable databases.
- Strong understanding of the Japanese pharmaceutical market and its commercial analytics requirements.
- Experience translating business challenges into strategic analytics solutions.
