Working directly with C-suite executives and senior business leaders, you will identify critical management challenges and lead engagements from strategic planning through execution. Your work will span corporate strategy, business strategy, growth strategy, digital transformation (DX), and operational transformation across Japan's financial services sector.
This is much more than a project delivery role. You will have significant ownership for developing new consulting opportunities, expanding strategic client relationships, originating major engagements, creating new services and solutions, and developing high-performing consulting teams.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead strategy engagements for financial institutions across corporate strategy, business strategy, growth strategy, operational transformation, and DX, overseeing projects from concept development through implementation.
- Build and deepen strategic relationships with C-suite executives and business leaders at banks, securities firms, insurance companies, and asset managers.
- Identify clients' medium- to long-term management priorities and develop high-value consulting solutions addressing their strategic needs.
- Drive business development and account growth through new client acquisition, cross-selling, upselling, and the origination of large-scale, multidisciplinary consulting engagements.
- Analyse financial market trends, regulation, emerging technologies, and the competitive landscape to identify new consulting opportunities and develop innovative services and solutions.
- Lead large-scale and complex projects involving multiple stakeholders and specialist teams, with responsibility for delivery quality and profitability.
- Coach and mentor consultants, provide career development support, and strengthen the capabilities and expertise of the Financial Services Strategy Consulting practice.
- Build the firm's profile within the Japanese financial services market through industry events, seminars, reports, and thought leadership.
Required Skills and Qualifications
Experience:
- Over 10 years of relevant professional experience, including extensive strategy consulting or management consulting experience in financial services.
- Deep industry knowledge and commercial understanding of banking, securities, insurance, and/or asset management.
- Proven experience as a project or engagement leader overseeing large-scale, complex consulting programmes from strategy development through execution.
- Strong track record of building relationships with C-suite executives, senior management, and business leaders, including executive-level proposals and negotiations.
- Demonstrated success in business development and consulting sales, including new client acquisition, cross-selling, and upselling.
- Bachelor's degree.

- Strong strategic thinking with the ability to approach challenges from an executive perspective, structure complex business issues, and translate them into actionable solutions.
- Excellent executive communication and relationship-management skills, including the ability to communicate complex topics clearly to C-suite stakeholders.

Preferred Skills & Qualifications
- Experience in corporate planning, business planning, sales strategy, or digital strategy within a bank, securities firm, insurance company, asset manager, or other financial institution.
- Experience delivering projects involving financial services DX, AI, data, operational transformation, or organisational transformation.
- Experience with financial services M&A, PMI, business portfolio transformation, international expansion, or other strategic initiatives.
- Established relationships or a professional network with executives and senior leaders at major financial institutions in Japan.
- Experience with global or cross-border consulting projects and international team collaboration.
- Professional experience using English in an international business environment.
- Previous experience at Director, Associate Partner, Partner, or an equivalent senior leadership level within a consulting firm.
