Join a leading professional services firm in Tokyo as an Associate Partner / Partner - Digital Risk & Governance, taking a senior leadership role in building and expanding its Digital Risk Consulting business in Japan.
You will work directly with C-suite executives, CIOs, CISOs, CROs, CDOs, and senior risk leaders at major corporations and financial institutions. Your focus will be identifying critical management challenges and leading clients from strategy development through transformation and implementation.
The role covers Digital Risk, IT Risk, Cybersecurity, AI Governance, Data Governance, Cloud Risk, Digital Resilience, and Technology Governance, connecting rapidly evolving technology risks with broader business strategy and enterprise risk management.
Beyond managing existing projects, you will have significant ownership of new client acquisition, account strategy, business development, new service and solution creation, thought leadership, talent development, and practice growth.
This is an executive-level opportunity to combine your expertise in digital risk, technology, cybersecurity, and governance with your C-suite relationships and commercial capabilities to help shape the future of Digital Risk Consulting in Japan.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead strategic advisory engagements for senior executives at major corporations and financial institutions, addressing Digital Risk, IT Risk, Cybersecurity, AI and Data Risk, and Digital Resilience.
- Build long-term relationships with CIOs, CISOs, CROs, CDOs, and other senior stakeholders, identifying emerging management challenges and translating them into strategic account opportunities.
- Develop and execute account strategies that address clients' current and emerging business, technology, governance, and risk priorities.
- Drive new client acquisition, cross-selling, and upselling to originate large-scale and multidisciplinary Digital Risk Consulting engagements.
- Develop new services and solutions across AI Governance, Cloud Risk, Zero Trust, Cyber Resilience, and Data Governance, responding to evolving technology, regulation, and market requirements.
- Lead large-scale and complex programmes involving multiple specialist disciplines and teams, with responsibility for delivery quality, profitability, and overall client value.
- Coach and develop consultants and specialists, strengthening the firm's digital risk expertise and developing the next generation of consulting leaders.
- Build market visibility through conferences, seminars, reports, media engagement, and thought leadership, creating new opportunities for the Digital Risk practice.
Required Skills and Qualifications
Experience:
- Over 10 years of relevant professional experience, including extensive consulting experience in Digital Risk, IT Risk, Cybersecurity, Technology Governance, or Risk Management, or senior leadership experience in these areas within a corporation or financial institution.
- Proven experience providing strategy and advisory services to CIOs, CISOs, CROs, CDOs, and other senior executives.
- Demonstrated experience leading large-scale or complex projects as a project owner, programme leader, or equivalent senior leader.
- Strong track record in business development, including new client acquisition, proposal development, and strategic account expansion.
- Deep understanding of the technology, regulatory, and business changes affecting digital risk, with the ability to develop new consulting themes, propositions, and services.
- Bachelor's degree.

- Strong strategic thinking with the ability to connect business, technology, governance, and risk and translate complex challenges into executive-level priorities.
- Excellent executive communication skills, including the ability to explain complex risk topics from a business perspective and build trusted relationships with C-suite stakeholders.

Language Requirements:
- Japanese: Native level.
- English: Intermediate to business level, with the ability to collaborate with international teams and global stakeholders.
Preferred Skills & Qualifications
- Experience in Digital Risk, IT Risk, Cybersecurity, or Risk Governance within a major financial institution or corporation.
- Experience in emerging risk areas such as AI Governance, Generative AI Risk, Data Governance, Cloud Risk, and Digital Resilience.
- Expertise in Cybersecurity Strategy, Zero Trust, IAM, Cloud Security, or related cybersecurity disciplines.
- Consulting experience in regulatory compliance, risk and compliance, internal audit, or Governance, Risk and Compliance (GRC).
- An established professional network with senior executives at major financial institutions or corporations in Japan.
- Experience working on global projects or collaborating with international teams.
- Professional certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CISA, or CRISC.
- Business-level English capability.
