Lead Solutions Engineer Tokyo - Observability & AIOps

Join a leading AI-powered observability and security technology company as a Lead Solutions Engineer in Tokyo, helping major Japanese enterprises modernize their IT environments through observability, AIOps, cloud, and AI-driven technologies.

Working closely with the sales team, you will lead the technical side of the enterprise sales cycle, from initial customer engagement and technical discovery through demonstrations, proofs of concept (POCs), technical evaluation, and closing.

You will act as a trusted technical advisor to enterprise IT teams and senior stakeholders, helping customers understand how observability, AIOps, cloud-native architecture, digital experience, business analytics, and log analysis can support their IT strategy, digital transformation (DX), and modernization initiatives.

This role also provides an opportunity to strengthen the wider Solutions Engineering organization by sharing technical expertise, leading customer initiatives, and collaborating with global technical teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Partner with the sales team to propose and sell an observability and AIOps platform to major enterprise customers in Japan.
• Lead the technical sales cycle from initial customer engagement through solution evaluation and closing.
• Deliver technical presentations and product demonstrations to customers and partners.
• Design and lead proof of concept (POC) engagements that demonstrate the platform's value in real-world enterprise environments.
• Provide technical evaluation support throughout the enterprise sales process.
• Explain how observability, AIOps, digital experience, business analytics, and log analysis can support customers' IT strategies and business processes.
• Understand each customer's IT strategy, applications, operations, infrastructure, and organization to develop an appropriate technical sales approach.
• Act as a trusted advisor to enterprise IT teams and management on digital transformation (DX) and IT modernization initiatives.
• Apply knowledge of cloud, cloud-native architectures, Kubernetes, web applications, and software development to customer solution design.
• Work closely with the Center of Excellence (CoE), technical support, and customer success teams to support successful customer outcomes.
• Lead technical customer initiatives and collaborate across internal teams to resolve complex requirements.
• Share technical knowledge, customer insights, and best practices to strengthen the Solutions Engineering team.

Required Skills and Qualifications

Experience:

• 5+ years of experience at a single IT company as a Solutions Engineer, Implementation Consultant, Solutions Architect, or Software Developer.
• Proven experience leading projects and working directly with enterprise customers.
• Experience working with customer IT teams and their managers as a trusted advisor, including delivering proposals and presentations.
• Deep technical understanding and hands-on experience with one or more of Java, .NET, PHP, Node.js, Golang, or Python.
• Strong knowledge of web application architectures and technologies such as NGINX, Apache, and Tomcat.
• Deep understanding and implementation experience in observability.
• Hands-on experience with cloud infrastructure, including AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud.
• Experience with cloud-native architectures.
• Hands-on experience with Kubernetes.
• Ability to travel to customer sites as required.

• English: Intermediate / Business level
• Ability to lead customer-facing technical discussions and presentations in Japanese while collaborating with global and multicultural teams in English.

Preferred Skills & Qualifications

• Experience supporting large enterprise customers with complex IT environments.
• Broader experience across AIOps, digital experience monitoring, business analytics, or log analysis.
• Experience advising customers on digital transformation (DX) or IT modernization initiatives.
• Experience working across multiple cloud and infrastructure technologies, including AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, or VMware.
• Experience mentoring, knowledge sharing, or contributing to the development of a Solutions Engineering team.
