Join a global consulting firm specialising in business and technology transformation as an HR Transformation Director in Tokyo. This is a senior opportunity to help build a new HR Transformation division focused on cross-border projects, working with international clients and multidisciplinary teams.
As a key member of the new division, you will support clients in designing and delivering HR transformation strategies aligned with their business objectives and organisational needs. You will assess existing HR processes, operating models, systems and ways of working, identifying opportunities to improve efficiency, employee experience and organisational effectiveness.
This role offers the opportunity to become a founding member of a new cross-border HR transformation team, contributing to projects across HR strategy, HR technology, talent, organisation design and HR operating models while working closely with senior client stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Support clients in designing and delivering HR transformation initiatives aligned with business strategy and organisational objectives.
- Analyse existing HR processes, operating models, HR systems and ways of working to identify opportunities for improvement and transformation.
- Contribute to the development of HR strategies, target operating models, processes and implementation roadmaps.
- Support transformation initiatives across areas including HR service delivery, HR technology, talent management and organisation design.
- Work collaboratively with client stakeholders and project teams to support change management, implementation and adoption of new HR solutions.
- Conduct research, data analysis and benchmarking to develop practical, evidence-based recommendations.
- Develop high-quality project deliverables, presentations and recommendations for client stakeholders.
- Collaborate with international teams on cross-border HR transformation projects and contribute to the growth of the new HR Transformation division.
Required Skills and Qualifications
Experience:
- 10+ years of professional experience, with experience in consulting, advisory or professional services.
- Experience or exposure to HR transformation, HR strategy, organisational transformation or a related field.
- Relevant knowledge or experience in areas such as HR technology, HR operating models, people strategy, talent or organisation design.
- Experience working on transformation projects and developing practical recommendations for clients.
- Bachelor's degree or higher.
Soft Skills:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to assess complex business and organisational challenges.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to build trusted relationships with clients and collaborate effectively within international, cross-functional teams.

Language Requirements:
- English: Fluent.
- Japanese: Business level.
Preferred Skills & Qualifications
- Experience in HR consulting, HR transformation consulting, management consulting or business transformation is advantageous.
- Exposure to cross-border or international consulting projects is preferred.
- Knowledge of HR technology, digital transformation or HR operating model design would be beneficial.
- Experience working with global organisations or multinational clients is an advantage.
