    About the job

    A leading global investment bank is hiring a Head of Fixed Income Sales to oversee credit product distribution across Japan-based financial institutions. Based in Hong Kong, this Director to Managing Director level role involves managing a seasoned Tokyo-based sales team, driving business development, and deepening relationships with institutional clients in the credit markets. This is a key leadership position with regional impact.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Lead and grow fixed income credit sales activities targeting Japan-based financial institutions.
    • Manage and mentor a high-performing 3-person sales team to achieve revenue goals.
    • Develop strategic client coverage plans for CLO and MBS products.
    • Collaborate with trading desks and product partners to deliver client-centric solutions.
    • Maintain strong internal communication with senior stakeholders across APAC.

    Required Skills and Qualifications

    Experience:
    • Minimum 5 years of experience in credit sales within an investment bank in Japan.
    • Deep product knowledge of CLOs and MBS is essential.
    Soft Skills:
    • Strong leadership, client engagement, and team management capabilities.
    • Ability to operate across regional teams and influence stakeholders.
    Language Requirements:
    • Japanese: Native fluency (spoken and written)
    • English: Business-level or intermediate proficiency

    Preferred Skills & Qualifications

    • Experience in managing regional client portfolios and cross-border team structures.
    • Familiarity with regulatory requirements related to fixed income sales in Japan.
