This is a senior Head of Fund Operations opportunity at a global asset management firm in Tokyo.
You will lead the operations function at head level with a strong focus on people management and leadership, overseeing multiple team members while ensuring operational excellence across fund and institutional operations.
This role also offers strong global exposure, with opportunities to participate in international projects and collaborate with overseas stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the Fund Operations function within a global asset management business, managing multiple team members.
- Drive team performance through strong leadership, prioritization, and stakeholder management across the organization.
- Oversee key operations areas including investment trust operations, institutional operations, and reporting.
- Act as a senior operations leader ensuring smooth execution of daily business operations and service quality.
- Participate in and contribute to global projects, working closely with international offices and cross-border teams.
- Support operational improvements and strengthen internal processes in a stable, collaborative environment.
Required Skills and Qualifications
Experience:
- 15+ years of relevant experience within the asset management industry or related financial services sectors.
- Experience in fund operations or related operations areas (full coverage is not required if you have strong expertise in one area).
Soft Skills:
- Strong management and leadership skills (this is the top priority for the role).
- Ability to lead teams effectively while managing senior-level stakeholder expectations.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to drive execution across multiple priorities.
Language Requirements:
- Japanese: Native
- English: Intermediate to Business level
