Key Responsibilities
- Lead regulatory strategy in Japan, managing licensing, data privacy, and anti-bribery frameworks.
- Act as the primary advisor on financial crime prevention, including AML and sanctions compliance.
- Partner with product teams to assess risks of new payment technologies and support compliant product launches.
- Design and implement scalable compliance frameworks aligned with business growth.
- Translate complex regulatory requirements into clear, actionable strategies for stakeholders.
- Drive a strong compliance culture through training and internal engagement initiatives.
- Identify regulatory risks and collaborate with global teams to resolve compliance and risk issues proactively.
Required Skills and Qualifications
Experience:
- 10+ years of experience in compliance or risk management within financial services.
- Proven track record in senior leadership roles managing complex regulatory environments.
- Strong expertise in banking regulations, financial products, and compliance frameworks.
Soft Skills:
- Strong leadership and decision-making ability in high-stakes, fast-paced environments.
- Advanced problem-solving skills with the ability to manage complex regulatory challenges.
- Ability to drive execution and deliver results through strategic and objective-oriented leadership.
