Key Responsibilities
- Data Governance Workflow Management: Manage end-to-end data control requests, from initial submission and review through approval and completion, ensuring compliance with established policies and procedures.
- Stakeholder Coordination: Collaborate with data owners, requesters, subject matter experts, and cross-functional teams to facilitate timely reviews and resolve operational issues.
- Data Control Documentation: Maintain accurate records of data requests, review outcomes, and decisions while updating relevant operating procedures and governance guidelines.
- KPI Monitoring & Management Reporting: Track request statuses, operational performance, and key performance indicators (KPIs), preparing reports for management and relevant stakeholders.
- Process Improvement & Automation: Identify workflow bottlenecks and opportunities to simplify, standardize, automate, and improve data management processes.
- Compliance & Governance Operations: Support the consistent application of internal data governance policies, control frameworks, and operational procedures across business units and group companies.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work with Japanese and international colleagues to support secure, compliant, and efficient data usage across the organization.
Required Skills and Qualifications
Experience:
- 3+ years' experience in data management, IT operations, information security, data privacy, compliance, or a related field.
- Hands-on experience managing operational workflows and business processes using tools such as JIRA.
- Experience coordinating effectively with multinational stakeholders, including Japanese and international colleagues.
- Ability to understand and consistently apply established policies, control frameworks, and operating procedures.
- Experience maintaining accurate operational records and managing processes involving multiple stakeholders.
Soft Skills:
- Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities to evaluate operational issues and recommend practical solutions.
- Sound judgment and decision-making skills when handling data governance requests and compliance-related matters.
- Effective conflict resolution skills and the ability to manage differing stakeholder requirements.
Language Requirements:
- Japanese: Native-level
- English: Business-level
Preferred Skills & Qualifications
- Practical experience in data governance, data management operations, or enterprise data control processes.
- Knowledge of data ownership, data stewardship, data classification, and access management.
- Understanding of data sharing controls, data privacy, and data lifecycle management.
- Experience preparing operational reports, monitoring KPIs, or developing management dashboards.
- Experience creating and maintaining process documentation, standard operating procedures (SOPs), or governance guidelines.
- Hands-on experience improving, standardizing, or automating business workflows and operational processes.
