We are seeking a bilingual Data Engineer to support a mission-critical team in the insurance and e-commerce domain. In this role, you will design and maintain data pipelines, models, and workflows, ensuring the smooth ingestion, processing, and transformation of large datasets. Working in a global, collaborative environment, you will play an essential role in enhancing reporting, analytics, and business intelligence capabilities for a growing financial services company.
Key Responsibilities
- Build, maintain, and optimize data pipelines for ingestion, processing, and transformation.
- Design and implement data models and database solutions (SQL and NoSQL) to support reporting and analytics.
- Monitor and troubleshoot data workflows to ensure reliability and efficiency.
- Collaborate with stakeholders across teams to support data-driven decision-making.
- Mentor junior staff and share technical expertise when required.
Required Skills and Qualifications
Experience:
- Minimum 3 years in data engineering or related fields.
- Strong proficiency in Python for ETL, data manipulation, and automation tasks.
- Hands-on experience with relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL) and/or NoSQL databases (MongoDB, Cassandra).
- Familiarity with cloud platforms for data solutions.
Language Requirements:
- Japanese: Intermediate to Business level.
- English: Intermediate to Business level.
Preferred Skills & Attributes
- Ability to communicate effectively with multiple stakeholders, including director-level management.
- Experience mentoring junior staff in technical environments.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently.
