Join a leading global financial institution as a Compliance Officer (Vice President), where you will provide advisory support on privacy, personal information protection, and related regulatory matters. Based in Tokyo, you'll play a key role in interpreting Japanese laws, working closely with global teams, and ensuring the business complies with evolving data privacy standards.
Key Responsibilities

Advise business units on Japanese laws related to data privacy and personal information (PII) protection

Translate and interpret local regulatory requirements into English for internal stakeholders

Monitor and evaluate controls implemented by the business to identify potential risks

Coordinate with Legal to support policy development and regulatory reporting

Conduct compliance training and prepare presentation materials for senior management

Collaborate with global teams on cross-border projects and group initiatives
Required Skills and Qualifications
Experience:

7-10 years in compliance, operational risk, or control-related roles in banking or securities

Experience with data privacy/protection is a plus, but not mandatory if willing to learn
Technical Skills:

Proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel
Soft Skills:

Strong sense of ownership, sound judgment, and the ability to work independently
