This role provides the opportunity to work on high-profile cross-border competition cases, supporting global corporations navigating regulatory scrutiny and litigation across multiple jurisdictions. You will collaborate with international legal teams and partners while building expertise in competition law, regulatory investigations, and antitrust litigation.
Key Responsibilities
- Advise clients on antitrust and competition law matters, including regulatory investigations and contentious disputes.
- Support multinational clients responding to inquiries from Japanese and international competition authorities.
- Draft legal submissions, memoranda, and regulatory filings related to antitrust and competition matters.
- Collaborate with global legal teams on cross-border antitrust investigations and compliance issues.
- Assist clients with risk assessments related to mergers, joint ventures, and strategic transactions.
- Work closely with partners on complex disputes involving multinational corporations.
Required Skills and Qualifications
Experience:
- Qualified Japanese lawyer (弁護士) with experience in antitrust, competition law, or litigation.
- Experience working in a law firm environment handling regulatory or dispute-related matters.
- Exposure to competition authority investigations or regulatory enforcement cases.
Soft Skills:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving ability in complex regulatory environments.
- Excellent legal drafting and written communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple legal workstreams and deadlines effectively.
- Collaborative approach when working with global legal teams and stakeholders.
Language Requirements:
- Japanese: Native level
