Key Responsibilities
- Manage a six-member AML Operations team overseeing daily financial crime procedures
- Supervise alert handling, SAR filings, and timely execution of the Money Laundering Risk Assessment (MLRA)
- Lead workflows across transaction monitoring, sanctions screening, and customer risk rating
- Ensure alignment with local regulations and the firm's global GFCC program
- Prepare governance reports for senior management and support regulatory inspections or audits
- Identify operational gaps and lead initiatives to improve AML frameworks and efficiency
Required Skills and Qualifications
Experience:
- 3-5 years of experience in AML operations or financial crime risk management
- Demonstrated experience in team leadership and compliance operations
Technical Knowledge:
- Strong understanding of Japan's AML regulatory framework
- Hands-on experience in transaction monitoring, sanctions, and risk assessment
Language Requirements:
- Japanese: Fluent (native-level)
- English: Fluent (business-level)
Soft Skills:
- Strong leadership with operational oversight
- Collaborative mindset and confident communicator with stakeholders
Preferred Skills & Qualifications
- Experience managing AML investigations or regulatory audits
- Prior background in financial crime operations within investment or retail banking
