Senior Manager, Business Risk

Morgan McKinley is partnering with a key player in the Payments Industry looking for a Senior Manager, Business Risk to join their growing Risk team. This is a hybrid role, with 2-3 days needed in the Sydney office.
The core purpose of this role is to play a key part in overseeing and managing the First Line of Defence in risk management within the organisation. This involves leading and coordinating comprehensive risk assessments, supporting mitigation actions, and ensuring operational risks are effectively managed across all business units. The Senior Manager will collaborate closely with business unit leaders, with a big focus on partnering with the Product teams, to integrate risk management practices into their daily operations and report key risk indicators to senior management.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and coordinate comprehensive risk assessment activities, ensuring effective controls are implemented and maintained.
- Collaborate with business unit leaders to develop and execute tailored risk mitigation plans.
- Perform controls assurance, identify control gaps, and work with business units to strengthen key controls.
- Monitor and report key risk indicators and risk mitigation strategies to senior management.
- Maintain and update risk management documentation, including risk registers, ensuring compliance and governance standards are met.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 7 years' experience in risk management with time spent in a managerial or senior role within the first/second line of risk.
- Previous experience working in a Payments or Technology environment in Australia.
- A relevant tertiary qualification, such as a Bachelor's degree in Risk Management, Finance, or Business Administration.
- Demonstrated experience in risk assessment, control implementation, and risk mitigation within a complex organisational environment.
