Morgan McKinley are exclusively supporting a client looking for a Senior Risk Analyst for an initial 6 month contract (with the likelihood to extend), to work on a hybrid basis in either Sydney or Melbourne.
The Senior Risk Analyst partners with Member Operations business units to manage risk, incidents, and obligations in alignment with the organisation's Risk Management Framework.
This role is responsible for executing the first-line Risk and Controls programme to mature the end-to-end control environment, driving thematic reviews, and providing advisory on strategic projects. You will deliver data-driven reporting and insights to senior stakeholders to strengthen risk culture and awareness across the division.
Responsibilities:
- Execute the annual Risk and Controls plan, including thematic reviews, control testing, and validation of self-assessments.
- Manage the end-to-end incident lifecycle, ensuring accurate recording, root cause analysis, and the development of effective remediation plans.
- Provide expert risk advisory and sign-off for change initiatives and strategic projects to ensure operational readiness.
- Prepare and present insightful risk reporting and dashboards to management forums, identifying emerging trends and systemic issues.
- Foster strong partnerships with internal departments and strategic third-party providers to ensure a consistent approach to risk management.
Requirements:
- Minimum of five years' experience in operational risk management, ideally within the financial services or insurance sectors.
- Comprehensive knowledge of risk and compliance frameworks, incident management practices, and control environments.
- Advanced analytical skills with the ability to diagnose root causes and translate complex technical data into actionable business insights.
- Proven track record of influencing senior stakeholders and maintaining high-quality professional relationships at all levels.
- Highly autonomous worker with the ability to manage conflicting priorities in a rapidly changing environment.
