    Morgan McKinley are exclusively supporting a client looking for a Compliance Specialist for an initial 6 month contract (with the likelihood to extend), to work on a hybrid basis in either Sydney or Melbourne.

    Reporting to the Manager of Compliance Member Operations, the Compliance Specialist is a vital member of the first-line Risk and Compliance team within the Fund Services division of a leading superannuation fund.

    This role ensures regulatory obligations are met across Member Operations by providing technical expertise, reviewing critical member materials, and assessing incidents. You will act as a subject matter expert to ensure ongoing adherence to financial services legislation and prudential standards.

    Responsibilities

    • Provide day-to-day compliance reviews and formal sign-off for member communications, forms, and remediation materials to ensure alignment with relevant legislation.
    • Perform detailed compliance assessments on operational incidents in accordance with established breach reporting policies.
    • Act as a technical expert on projects, interpreting complex regulatory issues and assisting in the implementation of processes to address new regulations.
    • Collaborate with stakeholders to monitor legislative changes and provide education on how these developments impact roles and responsibilities.
    • Support the preparation of compliance reports for executive teams and board committees regarding trends, risks, and project performance.

    Requirements:

    • A minimum of three years' experience in financial services compliance, ideally gained from Superannuation, Funds or Wealth Management.
    • Strong knowledge of risk and compliance frameworks and a deep understanding of financial services regulations.
    • A relevant tertiary qualification and RG 146 competence are highly desirable for this technical specialist role.
    • Proven ability to develop and maintain high-quality interpersonal relationships with stakeholders at all levels of an organisation.
    • Highly developed analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to handle confidential matters with professional integrity.
