Key Responsibilities
- Lead relationship coverage for Japanese financial institutions as a key strategic partner.
- Originate and execute cross-product solutions across Global Markets, Fixed Income, Derivatives, M&A, FX, Trade Finance, and Bonds.
- Collaborate with product, regional, and investment banking teams to deliver integrated client solutions.
- Develop and execute account strategies aligned with revenue growth and client segment priorities.
- Ensure compliance with internal policies, risk frameworks, and external regulations.
- Act as senior liaison with Risk, Legal, and Operations to ensure smooth execution of deals.
- Mentor and guide junior bankers, fostering the next generation of relationship managers.
Required Skills and Qualifications
Experience:
- 15-20 years of front-office experience covering Japanese financial institutions.
- Proven success in relationship management and cross-product origination for FI and NBFI clients.
- Deep knowledge of Global Markets, Fixed Income, Derivatives, M&A, FX & Treasury, Trade Finance, and Bonds.
- Strong understanding of transaction banking, capital markets, and financing solutions.
- Solid credit analysis and risk management expertise.
- Demonstrated ability to work across global teams and multiple stakeholders.
Language Requirements:
- Japanese: Native level proficiency (required for client engagement).
- English: Intermediate to business level (for internal and cross-border communication).
Soft Skills:
- Excellent interpersonal and presentation skills in both Japanese and English.
- Strong leadership, professionalism, and sound judgment in decision-making.
- Analytical, proactive, and capable of managing multiple priorities under pressure.
- Collaborative attitude and adaptability in a multicultural environment.
Preferred Skills & Qualifications
- Experience covering Japanese megabanks, securities firms, or insurance companies at a senior level.
