A leading investment firm is seeking an experienced professional to join its dynamic Private Equity Operations team in Tokyo. In this role, you will oversee complex accounting and operational functions related to alternative investment funds, with a focus on private equity. You'll contribute to client relationship management, ensure regulatory compliance, and mentor junior staff while delivering high-quality financial reporting and fund administration.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage one or more private equity client relationships as part of an operations team
- Review and validate capital activity, accruals, and valuation adjustments
- Prepare or review management fee calculations and carried interest waterfall models
- Evaluate investor allocations and capital account statements
- Oversee capital call and distribution calculations, including investor notices
- Review transaction documentation to understand investment structures
- Respond to client information requests and inquiries
- Ensure accuracy and completeness of deliverables under tight deadlines
- Mentor and guide junior team members on accounting practices and client service
Required Skills and Qualifications
Experience:
- 7-9 years of relevant experience in fund administration, audit, or investment operations
- Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience in private equity fund operations
- Strong knowledge of alternative investment fund structures and accounting standards
Soft Skills:
- Excellent attention to detail and multitasking abilities
- Strong organizational and analytical thinking
- Effective communication and stakeholder management skills
- Leadership experience with the ability to guide team members
- Proactive approach to process improvement and problem-solving
Language Requirements
