A global financial institution is seeking an experienced Operations Project Manager to lead key regulatory, infrastructure, and systems transformation projects in Tokyo. You will play a pivotal role in ensuring operational efficiency, risk control, and regulatory readiness, particularly in areas involving JASDEC and market infrastructure institutions. Key Responsibilities
- Lead operations and system-related projects from impact analysis to full implementation, ensuring seamless transition and user adoption
- Monitor regulatory, market, and infrastructure changes (e.g., JASDEC, BOJ), evaluate impacts, and implement necessary workflow or system modifications
- Conduct operational reviews and drive process optimization to improve efficiency and risk mitigation
- Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders including IT teams, vendors, and regulators for project execution
- Support governance and compliance through operational risk reviews, data quality initiatives, and continuous improvement efforts
Required Skills and Qualifications
Experience:
- 10+ years in investment banking, including 3+ years in securities operations
- Proven track record in project and change management within complex environments
Technical Expertise:
- Hands-on experience with system implementation, workflow optimization, and UAT
- Familiarity with JASDEC, BOJ, JSCC, JDCC, and JPX operations and regulations
Soft Skills:
- Strong sense of ownership and accountability
- Excellent collaboration and stakeholder management skills across diverse teams
Language Requirements
- Japanese: Business-level (for internal operations and external communications)
- English: Business-level (for cross-border project coordination and documentation)
Preferred Skills & Qualifications
- Regional or global project experience
- Experience working with senior-level management and stakeholders
