A leading Global Investment Bank is seeking an M&A Analyst to Associate to join its Capital Markets Front Office team in Tokyo. This is a high-impact role focused on M&A advisory execution within Japan's dynamic investment banking market. You will work on complex transactions, financial modelling, and strategic advisory projects, collaborating with senior bankers and global stakeholders. This opportunity is ideal for finance professionals looking to accelerate their investment banking career within a globally recognised institution.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute M&A advisory transactions including financial analysis and deal support.
- Build and maintain detailed DCF models and valuation analyses for live transactions and pitches.
- Collaborate with senior bankers and cross-border teams to support deal origination and execution.
- Prepare client presentations, investment memoranda, and transaction documentation.
- Communicate with internal stakeholders and clients to ensure seamless deal execution.
Required Skills and Qualifications
Experience:
- Minimum 1 year of M&A advisory experience at an Investment Bank in Japan.
- Strong hands-on experience in DCF modelling and valuation analysis.
- No more than 5 years of total experience since graduation.
Soft Skills:
- Strong analytical and quantitative problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work under pressure in fast-paced deal environments.
- High attention to detail and strong stakeholder communication skills.
Language Requirements
- Japanese: Native level (written and spoken).
- English: Business level proficiency.
Preferred Skills & Qualifications
- Experience supporting cross-border M&A transactions.
- Exposure to Capital Markets or Front Office investment banking environments.
- Strong academic background in Finance, Economics, or related field.
