Key Responsibilities
- Provide advisory support for M&A transactions in Japan and overseas, including mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, and strategic alliances.
- Conduct enterprise value and business value analysis, including valuation of intangible assets.
- Support valuation deliverables for M&A engagements using professional financial modelling approaches.
- Design and evaluate deal structures and transaction schemes (structuring) aligned with business and regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders and clients to ensure accurate, timely, and high-quality execution of M&A projects.
Required Skills and Qualifications
Experience:
- Bachelor's degree or higher
- Ability to use general business tools such as Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
- Minimum 3+ years of relevant experience in one or more of the following areas:
- M&A advisory or corporate restructuring (investment banks, securities firms, accounting firms, etc.)
- Business valuation / enterprise valuation
- Financial Due Diligence (FDD)
- Experience in Japanese financial institutions (lending, distressed assets, investigations, fund management, etc.)
- M&A-related work at strategy consulting firms
- Corporate planning, investment review, or business planning in a corporation
- Experience at Big 4 / audit firms / tax firms
Soft Skills:
- Strong ability in structuring problems and organising key issues logically
- Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail
Language Requirements:
- Japanese: Native
- English: Fluent (Business level)
Preferred Skills & Qualifications
- Professional certifications such as:
- CPA (Japan or US)
- Certified Tax Accountant (Zeirishi)
- Securities Analyst
- MBA
