Key Responsibilities
- Develop and lead financial strategies aligned with business objectives, commercial priorities, and the company's long-term growth plans in Japan.
- Oversee accounting, tax, financial reporting, budgeting, and statutory requirements to maintain robust financial governance and regulatory compliance.
- Manage liquidity, cash flow forecasting, funding strategies, and foreign exchange risk to support financial stability and business growth.
- Monitor financial performance, profitability, budgets, and balance sheet management while ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting.
- Partner with senior management, regulators, auditors, banking partners, and other external stakeholders on strategic, financial, regulatory, and governance matters.
Required Skills and Qualifications
Experience:
- 5+ years of leadership experience within Finance or a closely related function.
- Strong understanding of the Japanese banking market and regulatory environment.
- Extensive experience across accounting, financial reporting, financial governance, and regulatory compliance.
- Strong practical knowledge of liquidity management, cash flow forecasting, budgeting, and balance sheet management.
- Experience supporting strategic financial decision-making within a financial services, banking, fintech, or similarly regulated environment.
Soft Skills:
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with senior management and external partners.
- Strong strategic and commercial mindset with the ability to connect financial performance with wider business objectives.
- Proven leadership skills and the ability to provide direction across complex financial and business matters.

- Experience working directly with Japanese regulators, auditors, banks, and other external financial stakeholders.
- Broad exposure to accounting, financial reporting, internal controls, treasury, liquidity, tax, and regulatory requirements.
- Experience supporting the growth or expansion of an international financial services business in Japan.
- Ability to operate effectively within a technology-driven and rapidly evolving business environment.
